Ever since my years at Toronto Metropolitan (Ryerson) University, studying Computer Science, I knew I would pursue a career in the Animation/VFX industry. This field perfectly captures my passion for film and storytelling, my technical skills in software development, and my fascination with Digital Content Creation tools. This same passion continues to motivate me today to constantly learn, refine my skills, and strive to be a leader in this industry.
My first industry experience at Guru Studios as a Junior Pipeline Technical Director was an extremely valuable learning opportunity. I enjoyed collaborating with and learning from my teammates while implementing industry practices to optimize the animation pipeline. However, given the proper resources, there was no better growth opportunity than working on projects independently. This hands-on approach allowed me to learn and implement tools and automated processes for Maya and Houdini using Python while also deepening my understanding and proficiency with Universal Scene Description (USD). What made these experiences particularly rewarding was seeing the tangible impact of my work—tools I developed directly supported artists in creating assets and sequences for projects like Paw Patrol and Charlotte’s Web.
